The Information Technolohy (IT) Law Research Center of Istanbul Bilgi University (http://pictures.bilgi.edu.tr/UK/uk.htm) was established on 06.01.2004. As of 2005 it is the first and only institute in Turkey dealing with IT Law. Being an academic organisation, the Center promotes transparency and provides a wide range of contribution in the field of IT law.

Having been closely connected with the global IT law agenda, the Center conducts various activities and pertaining to IT law projects- both at academic, business and practice level.

The Center is committed to the philosophy that information attains value through sharing and therefore our mission primarily includes the provision of both legal and scientific background to IT practitioners and governmental institutions. In particular, the Center serves to provide the necessary academic support for projects such as e-Government.
